Master of Ceremonies - Govenor Marc Racicot

Born in Thompson Falls and raised in Libby, Racicot served as Montana's Governor from 1993 to 2001, after one term as the state's Attorney General. Racicot graduated from Libby High School, Carroll College and the University of Montana's School of Law. Racicot served three years on active duty in the US Army Judge Advocate General's Corps and returned home to become one of Montana's top prosecutors. After his time as Governor, he entered the private practice of law, was Chairman of the Republican National Committee and also chaired the 2004 Bush-Cheney re-election campaign. Racicot lives in Western Montana with his wife Theresa (of Big Timber,MT) and remains active as an advisor to several businesses.

Major General Matthew T. Quinn

Major General Matthew T. Quinn is the Adjutant General, for the State of Montana and has served as the Commander of the Montana Army National Guard. General Quinn is responsible to the Governor of the State of Montana to provide qualified Army National Guard Soldiers ready to deploy in support of national defense, homeland defense or military support to civil authority.

Prior to his appointment as the Adjutant General, he served as the Assistant Adjutant General, as Commander, 95th Troop Command (Bde), Vice Chief of the Joint Staff, J-6 and 495th Transportation Battalion Commander. General Quinn is a veteran of both Operation DESERT STORM, 1991, where he served as Commander of A Company, 34th Signal Battalion and Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, 2003 – 2004, where he served as Commander of the 495th Transportation Battalion.

Robert O’Neill - - - - - - - - - - - - - Guest Speakers

Robert O’Neill is one of the most highly-decorated combat veterans of our time. He was a team leader with the Naval Special Warfare Development Group. He has deployed more than a dozen times, and he held combat leadership roles in more than 400 combat missions in four different theaters of war. A highly-trained Navy SEAL, he led the military’s most elite and was involved in our nation’s most important campaigns. With most of his career shrouded in a classified cloak, O’Neill was the man on the ground we have never heard of but know exists. He was one of the quiet professionals performing the most difficult tasks in the most difficult circumstances, serving his remarkable career in the shadows and keeping America safe in the process. Decorations: One of the nation’s most decorated veterans, O’Neill has been decorated more than 52 times with honors, including two Silver Stars, four Bronze Stars with Valor, a Joint Service Commendation Medal with Valor, three Presidential Unit citations, and two Navy/Marine Corps Commendations with Valor. Silver Stars, the military’s third highest honor, are awarded for extraordinary gallantry in action against an enemy of the United States.

A. Clifford Edwards

Cliff Edwards, one of our state's leading trial attorneys was born and raised in Denton, MT. Educated at Carroll and then at the University of Montana's Law School, Edwards has been honored by several professional organizations over his distinguished forty year career. He is a delegate to the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and, among other honors, has been selected at Montana's "Trial Lawyer of the Year" and listed by Martingdale Hubbell as among America's Best Lawyers. Mr. Edwards is also involved in several businesses including ownership interests in livestock, aviation and banking concerns. He lives in Billings with his wife Susan (of Glasgow,MT).

Tom Brokaw

Tom Brokaw was born on February 6, 1940, in Webster, South Dakota. The eldest son of a construction worker and a post office clerk, Brokaw graduated from the University of South Dakota with a degree in political science in 1962. Starting as a radio reporter in college, Brokaw worked his way up to become NBC’s Washington correspondent, covering Watergate in 1973. He was named anchor of NBC Nightly News in 1982, and during his tenure as news anchor, he saw the fall of the Berlin Wall and interviewed Mikhail Gorbachev. He remained at the anchor desk until his retirement in 2004. Brokaw’s 1998 book, The Greatest Generation, was a best-seller. Tom and wife Meredith Lynn Auld have been married since 1962. The couple has three daughters, Jennifer, Andrea and Sarah.
